I love sketching with traditional media, including pen,

coloured pencil, and watercolour, but I also draw digitally

on my iPad.

The convenience of an iPad is incredible. It's like having all

your drawing tools in a slim notebook. It's the perfect

travelling companion. I use a stylus with a fine point and,

depending on the program I'm using, my stylus can be an ink

pen, a brush loaded with oil paint, a charcoal stick, or almost

any other art tool imaginable.

I won't give up my traditional media for the iPad, but I do find

that I sometimes work out a plan for a painting or drawing on

the iPad first, then finalize it with acrylic, oil, or pen on

canvas, board, or paper.
